Am I eligible to access the Wellness Qlinic?

We offer our services free of charge, regardless of insurance status, with priority given to LGBTQ-identifying patients who are un- or underinsured and whose treatment needs match the services provided. At this time, we are only able to accommodate people who are at least 18 years old.

Where is the Wellness Qlinic?

We are located inside 525 68th St. in the Upper East Side neighborhood of New York City. The building is also known as NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

When is the Wellness Qlinic open?

We are open Wednesday evenings from 6–9 p.m.

What can I expect on my first visit?

Friendly staff, medical students, and health professionals who are specially trained to address the mental health needs of the LGBTQ community
An initial evaluation, including a discussion and review of your physical and mental health history
Discussion with your evaluation team about recommended treatments and ereferrals, and if appropriate, follow-up with our services including:
- Coping skills and cognitive behavior group therapy
- Individual counseling
If appropriate and if desired, psychopharmacologic management for psychiatric and substance use disorders
Health education and safety planning
If needed, care coordination, including referrals to hospital- or community-based mental health care

Does the Wellness Qlinic accept walk-in appointments?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept walk-in appointments at this time. Please visit our Appointments page for information regarding making an appointment. If you require emergency medical attention, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

How do I schedule an appointment?

If you are a new patient, please see our Request an Appointment page. A patient coordinator will follow-up at the number provided within one week.

Due to the limitation of our appointment slots and services, please note that an appointment request does not guarantee an in-person evaluation, and an evaluation does not guarantee ongoing treatment.

If we cannot schedule you for an immediate appointment within the next 2 months, you can add your name to a waitlist. Patients on the waitlist will be contacted in the order in which their requests were received at least one week before availability.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Please call (646) 962-9297 no later than 48 hours (2 days) in advance. In order to maximize the efficiency of our services and due to demand for a limited amount of appointment spaces, patients are allowed three missed and/or late cancellations before services may be restricted or denied.

Does the Wellness Qlinic see pediatric or adolescent patients?

At this time, you must be age 18 or over in order to be seen at the Wellness Qlinic.
